Our story
ESS was established in 2008 by Stewart Proctor to assist lift companies in obtaining and maintaining their ISO, health and safety and compliance requirements. Having worked in the lift industry for over 35 years, Stewart and his team draw on their experience and expertise to offer services that streamline and simplify the many compliance requirements for lift companies.

Our team
We have many years of experience working in the lift and escalator industry and hold a wide range of accreditations in health and safety, environmental and compliance auditing.
The ESS team has over 25 years of practical experience working in senior roles across different areas of the engineering and construction industry, including design, installation, servicing, repair and decommissioning.
Our team is led by Stewart Proctor, a Chartered member of IOSH and chair of the executive board of the south-eastern branch for the past three years. He is an active member of IIRSM, IEMA, CIBS and The Association of Project Safety. Stewart also holds a CSCS card, construction certificate from National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) and an NVQ4 in Health and Safety. He is currently completing his MSc in Lift Engineering.
